The Hattemer Nursery method
For its nursery classes, Hattemer offers 3 levels: "Ladybirds" from ages 2 to 3 ½, then "Dolphins" from 3 to 4 years old, and then "Squirrels" from 4 to 5 years old.
Hattemer nursery classes are designed to develop the personality of each child, to familiarize them with the satisfaction of exceeding difficulty, and stimulate their desire to learn. The days are punctuated by sequences of manipulation, listening, speaking and games. Each proposed activity is designed to enable the child to gain useful skills for their education. Each solicitation has a definite purpose which is :
- either to develop visual attention, critical for academic learning,
- either to exercise their logical mind,
- either to help gain an attention and concentration span, naturally related to the age of the child..
Group life with its joys and its constraints allows young children to grasp early the rules of social life. The role of the teachers is to accompany, solicitate and encourage.
They allow everyone time to observe, to imitate, to search.
English is taught in all sections on a daily-basis by a native speaker.
